Meredith Viera interviewed American Idol's David Archuleta on the Today Show this morning. Viera asks, "You're new single is sellng like hotcakes on itunes, how do you feel about that?" He says he feels great about his self entitled debut album, is excited that his first single Crush has had tons of fan support and has moments that feel unreal to him.

"So much has happened in just a year," he says sometimes he feels he needs someone to pinch him to let him know it's real......"crazy stuff" he giggles.

Meredith asks him if he has any advice for the new American Idol contestants this season. Archuleta says, "Have a good time, keep a positive attitude, it can get rough at times, but it's definitely worth it."

The new American Idol season starts January 13, 2009.
